Have a look at this photo posted by Camellias Australia; I think they look like the same variety; what do you think?

It's a lovely bloom.

Thanks,

It does have similarities to the photo for sure and fits the written description to a tee. I live in a city that has the unofficial name of "The Camellia City". There everywhere here and blooming now. This one seems a real standout in the crowd though there are so many lovely ones. I tip my hat to you.

I revisited this one a took a few more photos. Sections of this shrub have very different color flowers. I'm not sure if these are from grafts or simply reversions. There are also solid red flowers on there.

'Cinderella' is itself a sport of 'Fred Sander', which is also a sport of 'Lady De Saumarez'. 'Cinderella' also has two registered sports of its own: 'Raspberry Ice' and 'Robert Strauss'.

As far as I can tell, though, these are all semi-double camellias, so it does seem likely that the pink double flowers may be rootstock.

I have very little doubt that the flowers in your original photos are 'Cinderella'. The coloration, patterning and fringed petals are distinctive and unusual. But I have no idea if the double pink flowers also on that bush are a sport or (as seems likely) rootstock. Confused

The variability of camellias makes them challenging to ID, but they certainly aren't boring!
