Hi , I am trying to find seeds or plants of any pinkish Salvia that looks like Black and Blue. I more or less have to grow them in pots , I am in Z 5 and having trouble finding any seeds or plants that are sold in Canada.

I had been lusting over Black and Blue for years and finally found some last year. They were fantastic and best of all totally deer proof. I did manage to find some seeds on some plants but many pods were empty, Is this normal ?

Will they produce Black and Blue or ????.

I was lucky enough to find some Blue Angel seeds some years ago now and I can now grow my own seedlings every year. Would I possibly get a mix between these two plants from my seeds ?

Loving this forum so far, just joined today .

@karimari

I did a google search for you for Canadian companies for seeds and/or plants. I don't know of U.S. companies ship seeds to Canada. I'll do a search for that also. I'm sure some of the companies have salvia seeds.

Here's some to look at right now. I'll do more searching. Smiling

Thanks for all that searching you did for me, I have checked many sites but so far not found what I am looking for. I have given up for this year.

I did plant some seeds that Black and Blue produced , they are not growing very well . I doubt they will ever reach maturity .

Thanks again

Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Hopefully, you'll find what you're looking for in Canada.

I'm sorry your Black and Blue isn't doing very well. I didn't realize it produces seeds, as I'm always deadheading my salvias to make sure they keep producing flowers.

I'm in Hamilton Ontario.

I found Black and Blue (called Black and Bloom) Salvia for sale at Connon Nurseries, as well as a small farm called Willow Creek Farms.

I've planted five 4" pots in the garden for the first time.

Hope they do as well as yours.

Welcome to the Agastache and Salvias forum. Welcome!

Salvia 'Black and Blue' is a different salvia from salvia 'Black and Bloom' (also known as Nectar Blue™). Black and Bloom has the same coloring as Black and Blue, but they're different salvia varieties.

Anise-Scented Sage (Salvia coerulea 'Black and Blue')

Blue Anise Sage (Salvia coerulea Nectar Blue™)

Hope your salvias do great and attract the hummingbirds.

Thought I check back in and see if I can figure out how to show you a picture of my Salvia's. They are doing quite well! (at least, from what I can tell)
