I want to get Plum Pudding next and plant it with some purple tulips behind it. I saw this on the internet, it is beautiful. I think it would work for me ok, but up north you might need a late blooming tulip so the Heucheras will be at peak color when the tulips bloom.
For example, my Georgia Peach was 'Orange' very early in the season, how would it have looked with some Peach colored tulips behind it?

Hummmm, I might go for that since I can't get any tulips till fall, but I don't even have a plum pudding yet either. Sad

What color is your Phlox? Is it the tall or short kind. Confused

It's about a foot tall. The lady at the local nursery got it from someone to trial. It has pale purple blooms. It smells good too. I don't grow Tulips. They don't last long and the leaves look so bad when they start dying back.

I plant Tulips under Hosta so the leaves of the Hosta cover the dying leaves of the Tulips.

I have Daffodils under my Hosta. Works same way. Green Grin!

It looks good with the burgundy mums that are blooming right now, love it. Lovey dubby
I really, really like this, can you think of a burgundy colored plant that would last all summer. These mums will only last a few weeks. I might keep them together when I plant them in the garden, since mine seem to be more red than orange, but I suppose it just depends on what time of year it is.

I am trying that with Alliums too, but you can still see them and I think it weakens them from being shaded so much.

I bet a Gaillardia burgundy would look good too. I might try that next uear.
