Hi, Trying to locate information and get comments re: this garden bench I rescued and am currently partially restoring. I think its pretty special and have never seen anything like it, so I'm wondering if anyone else has, or has seen, one with this type of detailing.

It is marked 'mexico, pa'. Yes, it exists, but its just a community with no status as a city or even a village. I have tried, but cannot locate anyone in the area to correspond with. Don't know the name of the manufacturer, the foundry....nada.

Would welcome any ideas out there about this unique, piece of art.

Thanks, tiojim

Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!

That is absolutely gorgeous!

I can't help you as far as answering any of your questions but you sure have a beautiful bench.

Odd that you can't find anything in PA - maybe a town closer to it would know?

Please let us know if you find out anything.

You definitely "scored" with this bench. It's great.
The design doesn't look stereotypically "Mexican" (to me, anyway) so it may have come from a factory in Mexico that copies pieces from elsewhere. Either way, it's a superb find !
Where on the bench did you see the "PA" ???

Very nice! I did a google search for Antique Cast Iron Garden Benches and found a Victorian bench at an auction site that appears identical to yours, the page says it's British, late 19th century and has an estimated value of $400 to $600! https://www.liveauctioneers.co...

Since yours is stamped "Mexico" perhaps it's a replica?
