A Gnat Tip for Houseplants

A great way to get rid of gnats on your houseplants is to mix 32 ounces of water with one squirt of Windex. Water your plants by making sure the entire soil surface is wet. It's not necessary to saturate the soil.

The gnat larvae live in the soil and will continue to emerge even if you eradicate all the flying gnats. The best way to eliminate the larvae is by allowing the soil to dry out as much as possible. Windex may kill flying gnats but it may also kill certain tender plant species.
