Love your banner, Casey. Lotus seed pods are so interesting.
Any day you wake up on the sunny side of the grass is a good day.
"The moving hand writes and having writ moves on. Neither all thy piety nor all thy wit can lure it back to cancel half a line nor all thy tears wash out a word of it." The Rubiyat by Omar Khayyam
I can imagine it as the head of an alien creature with several eyes (go with me here), each eye like that of a chameleon, swiveling in its socket. If I sit back and squint, the eyes even come to life.
I am so impressed by unique banners; and this one has it all. Like Baja, my imagination goes to the image of a plant iphone for the Lotus' in need. Great perspective of plant diversity.
There is a Thai restaurant in Hot Springs that has a lotus garden and I always check it out when we pass by. If I'm lucky, I can catch them when they are in bloom.

Jean - I agree! They are spectacular things! Always makes my day when I see them in bloom.
Cal - I haven't grown them before, but plan to add a water garden in the not-too-distant future. And I cannot believe I found pics of the blooms! See attached!
Frenchy, Baja and Fleur - Love the other-worldly / alien reference. So true!
