Hello,

I'm trying to start my own greenhouse in the back of my yard. What kind of soil is best to use? What kind of fertilizer can I use? Can I mix powdered eggshells and ground coffee together with the soil? What do I use for drainage? What is best or better to use trays or containers in my gardening ? What fruits, vegetables , herbs and plant needs to be planted into the soil? Will my garden be protected by the frost while being in the greenhouse? How often do I need to water my garden? How often or do I need to change the soil?

You are asking enough questions to fill a book.
Have you tried your local library?
Amazon in all likelihood has numerous books on the subject.
You can probably google countless articles on the subject.
It seems to me that if we were to answer all of your questions, you still would be ill equipped to succeed.
If I were you, I would research this on my own, make sketches and get an idea of what it is you are trying to accomplish.
Then come back to the forums with specific questions. Perhaps then, people here can help answer those questions.
Perhaps even your local Community College might be of some assistance?

Welcome @TalkingTeddy Welcome!

Let me try to get you started. Other folks will jump in with helpful advice.

Almost all the answers you seek depend on what you want to do with your greenhouse. So, let us know what your goals are for your greenhouse. And let us know what kind of greenhouse you have or want to have. You might also read the garden.org greenhouse forum for a lot of different greenhouse ideas and information.
https://garden.org/forums/view...

Watering, types of soil, fertilizer and trays vs. containers are going to depend on what you want to grow. Let us know.

Eggshells and coffee grounds are OK for gardens, but you'll want to compost them first. So you should start a compost pile.

Protection from frost is a major reason for having a greenhouse. How much frost it will withstand will depend on what kind of greenhouse you build and how you equip it. Do you want vegetables year-round or just an extended gardening season? You should also know that because greenhouses are so good at holding heat, they can have problems being too hot during the summer months. You will need to plan on how you will keep it cool, usually through ventilation and shading.

Dirt never goes bad! It's wonderful like that. But you will want to enhance it yearly with compost, manure and other goodies.

I'm looking forward to your answers.

Hi @TalkingTeddy and Welcome!

Your post to start this thread certainly matches your user name. Rolling on the floor laughing
Sounds like you want to figure it all out at once.
I have to ditto the advice @Henderman gave.

You need to figure out:
1. what you want to grow in your greenhouse
2. what your climate is where you live
3. what seasons you want to grow in your greenhouse.

All the others factors will start to fall into place after you answer these 3 questions. Greenhouse growing is not a math problem to be solved, but a journey. We are always learning.

Just plant a lot of stuff in there, cool it in the summer and heat it in the winter. Water everything with a hose. Miracle grow is ok, its not evil.
