I have not heard one peep from a frog yet. I've been tracking this for several years, and usually start hearing them mid to late February, with the full chorus by mid-March. Smart buggers, as we obviously still have snow on the ground.
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.

It finally warmed up enough here to take a decent walk yesterday in the afternoon. We still have a foot and a half of snow. I've never seen anything like this. I'm so sick of winter!

Deb, your frogs must be smarter than ours. I started hearing them a couple of weeks ago, despite the snow and freezing temperatures. They quieted back down a week ago.

Lauri, same. I never thought I'd be happy to get back to gray, dreary, and raining, but at least it's melting away the last of our filthy street snow here on the west side. It's been mostly gone from here for a couple of weeks. What has fallen, hasn't been sticking long. I hope it melts for you soon.

The red-wing blackbirds came back in mid-February as usual, and then they left again. Yesterday they returned, along with a flock of robins! I'm not sure what the robins will eat with 18 inches of snow on the ground, but it cheered me up to see them. It was snowing this morning when I got up, but has stopped now. I've had just about enough of this stuff! We have to drive to Spokane tomorrow, so I'm really hoping we don't have nasty weather for that.

Not one Peeper here yet. At least the snow melted.
