I highly recommend this plant....no pests, drought tolerant, no fertilizer,
just native soil, e.g. decomposed granite. Great bee magnet.
It's a California native, but can probably grow elsewhere, even in the UK according
to this article.....

Ours were started from 7 rhizomes 13 yrs ago, and they have spread ~50 ft
in all directions. Easy to pull out if you want to keep them contained.
They didn't bloom the first few years, but put on a great
show now.
