Okay, thanks. I had to look it up to understand the difference; apparently it's not always straightforward to visually distinguish the two. That said, I think the funnel on the left of the first photo would actually classify as a tornado (due to the visible swirling at ground level).

What did you use to take the photos?

I think we call them water spouts. I got to see a couple of them while in FL years ago.
