I know most of us get these as heirloom passalongs but if any of you have bought any of these recently, where from? I bought mine from Old House Gardens but paid like $50 for 4 bulbs. They insist the byzantine glads offered cheaply everywhere else are a different subspecies that's a lighter, less brilliant color and not the traditional heirloom. Just the best the Dutch can make cheaply. I recently got a new Brecks catalog and their picture of what they are selling looks exactly like what I have but they do make a point of not identifying the bulbs down to the same taxonomic level as Old House Gardens. But they are so much cheaper...

I bought mine at Old House Gardens & they are slowly multiplying. One thing I love about OHG is that they stand behind what they say the bulbs are & will replace if they find out they are advertising a bulb as something it is not. Not sure anyone else in the bulb world does that.

I have to add that I bought 1 bulb in 2016 & it has multiplied to 3.

Yeah, I know they know their stuff. I should really just pick some up at the fall master gardener sale.

Very pretty! I will always love these Glads.

At least this spring the blooms didn't get pounded by rain or beaten down by the wind.
