Recently I bought an orchid and I found that it's roots were not healthy... found some white fungus like things on the roots... It was like as shown in the image... What should I do for it to recover... Please guide me what to do...

Hi Subha, Welcome!

My eyesight isn't the best but I'm not seeing anything that looks like fungus on the roots of your Moth Orchid (Phalaenopsis) Healthy roots are usually green, to white, to silvery-white in color. If you see brown or black, I think that's when you need to be concerned but I'm no orchid expert so I'll call on some of our knowledgeable orchid growers to see if they notice anything you should to be concerned about.

Welcome!

Lin is correct, the roots will be white or silver in colour when dry and a greenish colour when wet. I can see the root hairs in a couple of images.

The only one that I am not sure about are the greyish areas in this photo:

The grayish white material that you think is a fungus is called velamin. It is what allows an orchid root to attach itself to a host plant or object. Orchids are epiphytes, growing on something else for support only. They do not feed upon the host or derive nourishment from the host. They are not parasites.
The real chocolate brown roots are possibly dead as may be some of the light beige roots. It would be hard for me to evaluate from an image.
As Australis said the gray roots, the green and the white roots are alive.
The velamin layer actually allows for the root to absorb water and as was already mentioned, they turn green as they allow for water absorption.
Dead roots should be cut away and your plant should be potted into fresh media. Please read through our threads and stickies to get further information on media's and repotting.
