So I've heard that they can go outside when nighttime temps stay 50 and above. Looks like that will be this Thursday. Do you guys think that is safe, or should I wait longer?

Also, one of my plumeria has yet to wake up yet, should I still put that one outside too?

TIA!

Matt; I kicked mine out of the house April 3rd & we are in the _same Zone. Mine are under a covered porch facing South so they're in Full Sun . Our temps are fluctuating between 45 - 75 We did have a couple days of rain... but they're still semi-dormant... so... I'm keeping fingers crossed.

Really the question then becomes is it better for my plumeria to be inside at 68-71 degrees with mediocre light or outside at 60 degrees with full sun (when the sun is out)?

If it's consistently 60 or above, I'd put them outside. As they leaf out and start to bloom, be sure to give them more water. If the pots can be blown over, support them with rocks. Mine blew over frequently last summer and I had a few broken branches.

Out they go! Just watch it when it gets cooler and you have rain. They don't like cool and wet.

Hello Matt..
I'm in the Hudson Valley, and i'm waiting another week. Our nights can still get into the 40's and last year i put mine out early and they were very slow to make up. Also had a couple with 'Black tip' from the cool wet temps.
I have several waking up in the house now, and while tempted ...I'll wait until last April weekend.
Here is a pic of my 10 tip, 2 (active) inflow, 6 footer. Woke up about 2 weeks ago .

I'm having to wait too. Mine are waking up, but it's still 40's outside overnight. I want it to be solidly 50's before I risk putting them out.

I moved mine out yesterday, temperatures look steady in the fifties here at night time. They sure got a soaker overnight!

Put mine out yesterday as well...could even tell one day of being outside they look happier Smiling

Weather appears to be staying 50 and above even at night so keeping fingers crossed. Also good that it is a little overcast so it won't get shocked by the full sun.

I am in zone 6b in southern Indiana and we just went through dogwood winter. Still have blackberry winter in May coming, which I don't expect to get much below 50 at night, but don't want to take a chance. I am going to wait at least another week. It got pretty cold the last two nights.
