Each year seems like I get something new for the garden a plant, garden décor or a tool. This year I ordered a Drill Till which attaches to a cordless drill to help me out in the garden with various tasks. I am hoping it works well for weeding. I do know it was developed right here in MN so it should work on the soil in my garden. Mine has not arrived yet so I am keeping my fingers crossed that it lives up to my expectations. I happened to see it on QVC and decided to give it a try as they have a 30 day return policy if you don't like the product. Crossing Fingers!

Very interesting, I have never seen one of those. Let us know how it works for removing weeds, and drilling holes in the soil.

I was hoping this was going to be about the drills they use for vertical aeration. You can use a power drill, but that's a lot of bending over. Looks like the company is selling it for planting and weeding. Mixing potty soil would make sense. It looks a little too light weight to be useful in my heavy clay soil. I think I'm stuck with my shovel. The "big boys" in the industry use electric drills to plant and weed. I'd like to find me one of those.

@Sallymander, Link to the drill weeding tool made for clay soil, if you are still looking for it.

And here I was looking at using a rotary hammer with a masonry bit to dig small holes in my garden. I envy you all for having soil that isn't 50% rocks. (I do most of my gardening in raised beds and planters.)

The only way I can see the drill thing working is if you have nice friable soil in your beds, the thing that works best in my clay, root infested rocky soil is a tool called the root slayer.

If you have that perfect soil, you only need a trowel or spade, no need for a drill thing.

I noticed the video didn't actually SHOW it being used in heavy clay soil like Sallymander and I have here in the Willamette Valley. Maybe it would work on some of the massive weeds we get in the lawn. In fact it gave me an idea... spade blades come in many diameters and this could be a good organic way of eliminating some weeds (if one can go deep enough).

I'll have to charge my drill up and give it a shot and hope neighbors aren't watching, they think I'm crazy as it is.
