Thread OP

Hello all,
I planted 2 wisteria about 4 or 5 years ago maybe a bit more. One purple in the ground and one white in a pot.
After realizing both did not flower, just nice green leaves, i went online and researched. So the mistake i made was that i did not trim them twice a year like i should have.
Last year for the first time i did trim the purple one only. First time around the end of january and second time in the summer.
And unfortunately, not much result... still have gorgeous green leaves but just 2 tiny flower (tiny grapes that might grow a bit more i hope).
Any idea what i should do? The purple one as well as the white have plenty of sun. They grow high and keep growing nicely.
Thanks in advance for any help that might come my way :)

What makes you think you needed to trim them at the times you mentioned ? (Not being sarcastic, just curious.)
Are they getting full sun all day ? 6 to 8 hours worth ?
They bloom on the old wood (previous years growth), so you might be preventing bloom by pruning them twice a year as mentioned.

We never trimmed ours and they bloomed well. I agree that you are probably cutting off the part that would have bloomed.

My advice, however, is to get it off your house. It is a very aggressive vine that shrinks as it grows, and it will damage the house sooner or later.

Surprise blooms this week in over 100 degree heat. All they get is water about once a week:
