Hi Friends,

Does anyone know of a company who still makes these types of metal carts? Definitely looking for metal, not Rubbermaid. They are so effective when you're raking the lawn - when tipped down, the cart is heavy enough to weigh down in the grass so that the rake doesn't catch at the lip.

My only option right now is to buy a "vintage" version for at least $150, and I'm pretty much guaranteed one that's starting to rot. I'm looking to use it, not to decorate with it.

Thanks so much!

I don't know if anyone even makes a garden cart with a steel tub anymore, I could not find one. I think the reason is as you stated, that if you do find one used it is already about rusted away, so the plastic tubs have taken over the market.

Seedfork is right. Steel is hard to find now. I use my Red Flyer wagon.

@ShadyGreenThumb,
I think that would be just what they are looking for if the tub were made of steel and not plastic. The add mentions powder coated steel, but that appears to be only the handle, the tub is plastic.

Shucks @seedfork. I really thought I'd found a gem! Its getting harder to find steel, even in standard wheelbarrows! I read the description. They sure hide the fact the bucket is not steel!

Yes they do hide that in my opinion also, and the price makes you also think it might be a steel tub. I had to read the reviews in order to confirm what I suspected, a plastic tub.

Thank you for trying. :)

What makes the cart I'm looking for so special is the front - it tips down to the ground and becomes a "dustpan" of sorts, where you can cleanly rake stuff right into the cart, then tip it upright and roll it away.

The metal is thin, yet heavy, so the lip of the cart sinks to the root level of the grass, so the teeth of the rake do not get caught.

Should you find one, or locate any, call me collect ....

100% agree with you - this type of cart is most useful & effective for lawn maintenance & up-keep ....
Have a similar cart - except mine is plastic ...it is developing cracks along the upper-rim of the "bucket" - think my *only* fix is: plastic epoxy & stainless steel flat bar

Have been looking for a replacement for about a year ...so far no luck
