Thanks Carla @cocoajuno! You can get it from MidAmerica Iris. Another plus to this little beauty is that the blooms stay open a long time, and that it keeps blooming one after another. I have been enjoying it's first time bloom here for over two weeks. Smiling

Good morning Leslie,

I just checked with my local AIS and found out the Dwarf Iris do not do well in the area I am currently living. In the next couple of years we are moving to a much cooler climate and I will be able to grow these beauties.

Thank you so much for the information and all the beautiful Iris pictures you post, Carla

Carla @cocoajuno - sorry to hear that. Dwarfs do need a shot of cold weather to bloom well. I am guessing that would be the main challenge to growing them in AZ. In case you don't want to wait until you move, you could always try growing one in a large pot ( which you could keep on the cool side of the house and move into shade if needed). Smiling

Lestv Leslie, It is funny you should say that, I am currently trying something for the local AIS club. I have 20 Iris that I purchased and the i purchased the grow pots and am experimenting to see how much increase we can get for our fall rhizome sale. I think I should try this with a couple of dwarfs too. The colors seem to be much more vibrant, especially the reds.
Thank you so much for your response, Carla
