I'm looking for some help and advice please.
The field next to us was recently purchased and a monstrous house is now being built on, 8m of glass staring right across our whole house and garden, elevated above us which is helpful. We can't afford to plant mature trees (Holm Oak, Holly) at a minimum of 4m high to block their oversight as the boundary is 20+m long and it would take years for the gaps between the trees to fill out.

We thought about putting in 4m high posts spaced maybe 4m apart with strong wire tensioned between them and growing a fast growing evergreen climber up them as the fastest and most cost effective way of getting our privacy back, if not the view!
However, we are near the top of a hill and a little exposed, so it does get pretty windy and cold, even in Somerset.
So, I'm looking for recommendations for evergreen climbers for the above structure that will tolerate wind and being exposed/cold, but not require pruning and will still act as a year round privacy screen.

Hi, So... what have you done since posting this?

When you say 4m, do you mean 4 meters? That's like 13 feet? I don't know the price of wood where you are, but around here, the trees would be cheaper than the lumber.

Hard to make plant recommendations when we don't know where you are (zone/climate.)
