Shrug! I couldn't find a listing for this variety of Alternanthera at the Catalogue of Life.

Thank you for finding this, Lin. It was added to the database in 2011 and probably was an accepted name at the time. Since then, it probably became a synonym, but the CoL ceases to list synonyms after a while, so I'll delete the entry as an invalid name.

Thanks Zuzu! I tried different spellings and still wasn't sure about the name. Smiling

Green Grin! I edited my post a bit so it wouldn't look so odd.

In case anyone really wants to know, it was Alternanthera ficoidea var. flavogrisea.

Thumbs up I thought it was the Alternanthera but I've been looking at so many different database plants today, I couldn't remember for certain which one it was that I'd questioned ... and it probably wasn't that long ago that I asked the question. D'Oh!

My memory is really bad lately. I apparently let one of the dogs out in the yard earlier and forgot about him! We never leave them out there unattended due to their habit of eating grass, sticks, mulch, etc. I was sitting here at my laptop and heard a dog bark and thought it was odd because it sounded like it was coming from the pool area but we don't allow the dogs in the pool area unattended either. I walked outside and there sat Toby, on the other side of the screen door, wagging his tail and barking to be let in. I'd been outside earlier, repotting a couple of plants but for the life of me I don't remember either dog coming out the door with me. Blinking I am really getting forgetful. Sighing!
