When I moved into my apartment late 2017, it came with outdoor space and an open invitation to garden.

There was a space about 6ft by 10 inside the front gate beside my stairs, which means it's all mine. It had a probably 10 year old tree (weed) in the middle and was surrounded by muck and weeds.

Because of the amount of work involved in clearing it, I didn't have time to plant a ground cover, but I did rough out a design and had a nice crop of fresh herbs by August.

This year it's finished. English lavender and mint are back, the rest are still sleeping.

I'll certainly upload more photos as it fills in.

Chosen ground cover is white clover, because I found a bag of it at the hardware store. Today it started sprouting!

Starting to warm up finally and stuff is happy. Had to reseed the front corner,, torrential downpours washed away muh clover seeds. Fortunately in warm weather they germinate in 2 days so they've taken hold.

Put an anise hyssop next to the corpse of my French lavender. I know it's dead but don't want to admit it so I've both replaced it and left it there.

Added some hanging pots from the dollar store. They contain dwarf cherry tomatoes.

You did good LucyP. I love your garden spot and I noticed you have that lattice where you could do vertical gardening if you wanted to. That is a space saver for growing espaliered fruit trees, or climbing plants like cukes, squash, pole beans, Hummingbird Vine, Clematis, or any kind of climbers. Great job! Hurray!
