Thread OP

Hi, does anyone have seeds or seedlings of Aravaipa avocado? I cant seem to find it anywhere for sale online.
I am located in EU (Croatia) where summers are really hot and winters get quite cold (depends on year).
That is why I am searching cold hardy avocado. Thanks for your time

I know nothing about aravapia avocados. The most heat and cold tolerant avocado I know of is : Stuart improved mexicola.
It withstands our 110 f summers.
It's rated to withstand temps down to 15 f.
As with any avocado, the trees need frost protection when they are young.
I hope this helps you.

Thanks Philip for your help, I came to conclusion from people who have grown this avocado that this is (in my opinion) cold hardiest avocado variety. And also heat tolerant.

Hello Petasplit.
I did some research. Interesting to read about Aravapia valley in SW Arizona where the mother Aravapia avocado got started. No one knows how the one tree got started.
The Aravapia and Stuart improved have the same tolerances for heat and cold. Who knows, they sound like they could be twins. Shrug!
I did find a place that sells trees.
Shamus O'Learys tropical trees, in Glendale Arizona, on Facebook.
Of course getting it half way around the world ???
If you know someone with a tree, you could get a cutting and graft it to an existing tree.
