Discovered metal garden hose the other day at my local Menard's store. 50' long, 1/2" diameter. Was kind of leery of the smaller diameter but bought one anyway. $19.95 on sale.….regular price $29.95.
Used it the other day......watered some stuff, washed the car. Liked it so much, went back and bought several more before sale ended.
No kinks, light weight, easy to handle. I can see easy storage in the fall. No heavy rubber hoses to drain. It's so lightweight that cranking up 100' or so on a hose reel would be enjoyable vs the heavy rubber hose type.
Anyway, just thought I would pass this along as I've had rubber hose issues for years and I'm thinkin' this is the solution.

I agree. Now I have four, I think, and have been using them for over a year. I am curious about the longevity but so far all is good. I use them in the greenhouse and out in the yard. So much easier.

Spoke too soon. My oldest one sprung a leak this morning. I don't thing there is any way to repair them. I still really like them and will keep using them.

If you have the same kind I have, yes, it does come with a lifetime warranty.
The name of mine is "Metal Garden Hose". One problem is that this company requires proof of date of purchase so you probably need your receipt, and they want a check/money order in amount of $10 to cover postage and handling plus you have to pay for shipping it to them. Mine costed $19.95 at Menards so all that shipping and handling would come pretty close to buying a new one. But I see other places this hose costs $40 and if you buy it online it's $50.
(I sure love my Menards store Thumbs up

The decades old street hustler scam.
Any life time warranty where you pay for anything more than shipping, no handling bs , is a warranty scam.
You get what you pay for.

As all the reviews I have read on line said, at this point they are really too new to give a real fact based opinion but so far they seem to be OK.
The best rated ones all had only a 12 month full warranty, while one other had a longer limited warranty..

I bought a 100 foot 3/4 in ID hose on line with a "life time" warranty.
It turned out due to a metallurgy snafu the coupling would chemically weld them selves to tools.
Wrote to them, they acknowledged the snafu and sent me a new 100 ft coupling corrected hose no charge of any kind.
So I just use an anti-seize compound on one and now have two hoses.

"you get what you pay for"
Not always. Sometimes this subject comes up at our daily "old folks" coffee group at McDonalds and Hardees.
When it does I mention my recent purchases of a "expensive" $29.95 insulated 20 oz glass and a $6.74 similar 20 oz glass. Did the ice cube test (equal amount), let sit overnight, in morning, cheaper glass still had ice and higher priced glass contained all water.
You could buy FOUR of the cheaper ones and get change back vs 1 of the big name expensive one.
BTW I bought the expensive one first, not knowing about the ice cube test between the two.
Back to subject....on the warranty for the hoses, I'm hoping I won't need it.
If hose fails after a couple years, no big deal. I bought 7 of them at $19.95 each. 5 are in use, 2 for spares. When Menards sale ends Sunday, they will probably be $39.95 again. (my wife is getting tired of me raving about how nice these hoses handle in use) Thumbs up
