It's about 18" tall, but that doesn't always tell the whole story. A few TBs are short this year, some less than 12"! Maybe it's due to the erratic weather.

Definitely not Saharan Sun for sure! Hilarious! Hilarious!

Could it be Doodle Strudel? (what a name):

Leslie ~ Thank You! Yes, that is very close. But with broken colors it might be even harder to match, even with the named one next to it. Hmm... Thinking

This one may never get identified. I will contact the vendor and see what she has to say.

It looks similar to Gnu Blues

The closest intermediate size iris I can find is Little Miss but I think the beards on Little Miss are too yellow

It appears in your side shots that yours has a yellow beard at the throat and blue at the end.

Robin ~ Gnu Blues looks pretty close. I just don't know if I should label it that.

Don't label it until you grow a comparison plant and compare it side by side.

I agree The standards are much more open on yours then the pics of Gnu Blues.

Evelyn - I just had a look at the members who own Gnu Blues and it is in your plant list. This could be your Gnu Blues. If it isn't, there is a Gnu Blues somewhere in your garden you can compare it to.

Robin ~ Yes, I do have Gnu Blues. It isn't in bloom yet, but when it does I'll look at it. Otherwise it will be Blu NOID! nodding

Since I have Gnu Blues growing here, too, it opened a lot later than this "broken-colored blue", I will have to do further research on it. There would be no way to compare them side by side if they bloom at different times.

The "b-c-b" noid is much earlier. And, as I had mentioned before...broken colors don't match perfectly. I will plant them side by side (clearly marked) when I redo the beds this fall, and then see the results next year, if they both bloom. Thinking In the meanwhile I need to contact the vendor and also do more research on them, if there is no satisfactory explanation.
