Hi all,

New to the forum. My first post Smiling

I recently planted my first set of adenium seeds. I tried to 'help' them getting their shells off as soon as they came up. Must've been too soon because when removing the shells I think I took off the baby leaves as well.

Will these recover and grow new leaves if I keep watering them? Or do I just pull them and move on?

Hope any of you can help! Can't find any answers anywhere else online.

My second batch went a lot better. I let them just do their thing, and only helped (2or3 of 24) after they started showing leaves. These are all doing fine!

I also just received 14x 15 seeds I ordered online ( from KO). And have 4 seedpods growing on an older plant I have. So I should have enough to play with. Big Grin

Just wanted to know if there is still hope for those leafless seedlings.

Welcome !

That is a tough one -

Unless the "leafless are taking up resources, shelf space or too much time" - I would wait it out, and see if new leaves emerge ...if in a month or two "nothing happens" ... then start over

Thanks for your reply James.

I guess I'll let them go and see what happens. They do look kind of sad with no leaves, but hey!

If anyone else has experienced this and knows the outcome. Please let me know! I'm all ears!

I am actually curious of what does happen ....

when topping older plants or when cutting back stems, adenium will usually sprout from 1 to 5 new leaf buds ... what happens in a situation like this ?
