Thread OP

Hello everyone,

I have some swamp coolers and the aluminum shutters have some oxidation and build up on them. I was wondering if anyone has any clever tips on how to clean these. Some things I have tried with no luck include using Zerotol 2.0, Brasso, SOS pads, Coca Cola, 3% Hydrogen peroxide, aluminum wheel cleaner. Any and all ideas welcome I would love to get these cleaned and polished up. Thanks in advance!

Hi @Steinard and Welcome! to the forum!

Have you tried vinegar? Brush it on with a soft bristled brush (not metal bristles). Scrub it with the brush and wipe with a cloth. A lemon and salt scrub can also clean oxidized aluminum.
