I am a new transplant (just a couple months) from the New York tri-state area, re-potting myself down here in the Stuart, Fl - Southeast FL for those who are unfamiliar- and I'm feeling kinda like a total newbie when it comes to the plants around here! It's weird!!

I am an experienced gardener - in New York City, that is. I'm used to clay soil, freezing temperatures, perennials that are annuals in that climate, and the overall joy it is to have a garden to play in. Hurray!

It's odd for me to look at trees in the landscape and not know what they are..! The family, root type, fruits, flowers, the whole nine yards..! Now all I see are PALM TREES!! Everywhere!! Grumbling

It's taken me a little bit to figure out that all those lovely herbs I grew in pots back in NY? I can actually grow here... in the GROUND!! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! That makes me very, very happy!!!

Anyway! I hope you bear with me and my silly questions that are soon to come and accept any help I can offer in the spirit in which it is given. I tip my hat to you.

Many thanks in advance!!

Darrie

HI @Darrieb. I'm late to the party here but still wish you a hearty Welcome! I grew up in Jupiter & moved to the northern part of the state from Hobe Sound.
One day you ought to go have lunch or dinner in Pt. Salerno @

And on the inlet in Jupiter -- you can take the boat & tie up to the dock there if you like:

Now this next is in Tequesta but I will guarantee you will never, ever be disappointed with the food. Exceptional! The others have view & atmosphere right on the water but for the best food you ever put in your mouth:

The Italian Beef is spectacular!

They don't do dinner.
I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown
