It is June 1. and we have a new thread for the month. Let me start with my Jackfowlieara /formerly Iwanagaara Appleblossom. I had restarted my old plant and unfortunately a second piece obtained by that didn't make it. But here is a small piece and it is blooming.
I will stop here for now, I am sitting right now in a gorgeous spot looking at the pond and hearing the birds singing and the frogs croaking loudly and the internet is 2 bars on LTE, a tad super slow to upload pictures. More later!
Please all join in!
Two of my favorites! I'm glad you were able to save a bit of that Apple Blossom, Ursula...I'm sure it will rebound and amaze us all next bloom!
All of the buds on my C. tenebrosa are open today
I went to Apopka and Mt. Dora, FL to help bring back all the plants for our
orchid club party ( every member gets a free plant!). I picked up a plant for Jim and another member that couldn't make the party. Both NOID right now but our plant person is attempting to get the names from the nursery .

That's a beauty, Ken and I love your white/purple one, too. Seems like you're going to have an ongoing surprise party, with your salvaged orchids - never know what's going to bloom or how it will look until it opens. Lots of fun for all of us.

Oh, gorgeous, Lindsey and Ken! I love the C. tenebrosa! And the Richard Mueller x reminds me of Copper Queen, always a favorite.
Posting from Fair Lawn now -
This pink Vanda - the tag might read Sirilak x Kultana, and I don't think it is registered in any way it might be written.

The next of my Cymbidiums to flower this season is a seedling of Orchid (Cymbidium erythraeum var. flavum 'Paradise') X Orchid (Cymbidium erythraeum var. erythraeum 'Lois'). I'm pleased with the result - it has produced 8 flowers on its first flowering and has two new growths. It seems a lot more compact than Cym. erythraeum var. erythraeum. It has the lip from var. erythraeum, the colour from var. flavum and the shape is partway between the two.

Thanks Ursula The blooms are surprisingly small, despite the resemblance to the larger-flowed tracyanum and iridioides. I'm looking forward to seeing how it does in the next few years as it matures.
Those flowers are absolutely gorgeous, Joshua, and as Ursula said, exhibit a dramatic flair.
My Cym. are doing pretty much nothing, other than some growth. Absolutely no stem on any of them. I may not have enough coolness during the fall and winter for them to do well.

The reason it's so hard to lose weight when you get up in age is because your body and your fat have become good friends.
That's a pretty Richard Mueller X , Ken...I'm surprised it's not registered.
Ursula, your Trichopilia Suave Margins looks to be one happy plant and I just love those flowers! My roxburghii has a bunch of flower umbrels on it but don't seem to be opening up just yet...it sure is a cutie, isn't it?
Joshua, your Cym. is REALLY cool...I love the shape of these ones, they are so different from any that I've seen before. Congratulations on flowering it so nicely!
I don't know why.. but this little one was REALLY hard to get a photo of.

That is a very nice Broughtonia Lindsey. Very nice!
In that first image, the flower would be much nicer, so much easier to appreciate, if not for all of those buds surrounding it!!!
