I think this is not 'Blue Satin'. As you can see from the other images, 'Blue Satin' is Blue-Lavender.

it doesn't look to me like a rose of sharon at all, but a hibiscus.

Confused it is a hibiscus. Rose of Sharon is a common name, hibiscus the genus, see the entry above.

thats not what I meant, I mean it is not a rose of sharon - it does not have leaves for a rose of sharon
