I just bought two flax labeled 'Blue Sapphire.' Directly next to them was another one labeled simply 'Sapphire.' They were all in 4" pots but the plain Sapphire was shorter and perhaps denser than Blue Sapphire. I can't figure out if these are the same cultivar, or if I should propose adding 'Blue Sapphire' to the database - 'Sapphire' is already listed.
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.

Perhaps there are two separate cultivars? Shrug! I see that we have only the one database listing for Blue Flax (Linum perenne 'Sapphire') but I googled and found numerous listings for one named Linum perenne 'Blue Sapphire':

Some of those websites seem to have the two confused, saying 'Blue Sapphire' is a compact plant of 10-12 inches. Others say it's 18-24 inches. If we ignore the confusion and go with the majority, it looks as though 'Sapphire' is the compact version of 10-12 inches and 'Blue Sapphire' is the average-sized flax of 18-24 inches. I've added 'Blue Sapphire' to the database.
