So my first batch of seedlings are taking off well. It is the end of week two, one thing is for sure, the top of this soil is drying really slow even though I am only bottom watering. Either way, since it was a very successful first time. My next batch will be seeding in 2 weeks.

These are things that I have learned for anyone having trouble.

I bought my seeds from Mr. KO
My next batch will come from him and another source. Will let everyone know how that goes. I will provide a link to his website.

First thing is choose a manageable way to plant your first seeds. Choose something that you are comfortable with. Personally I like to be organized and keep everything in a system. So I chose trays.

Soaked the seeds for two hours and sprinkled a bit of cinnamon on them after they dried a bit. Even the dead seeds did not mold but I did end up removing the dead ones.

I personally used a mixture of 2/5 coco coir (Home Depot brick) 2/5 perlite (miracle gro rinsed) 1/5 cactus soil ( without the big pieces of wood chips)

I placed the seeds on top of the mixture and used just plain coco coir to cover (next time I will use sand, sand prevents mats which is big in Florida)

The mixture was already wet enough from the expanded coco coir and rinsed perlite, so all I really had to do was mist the top till it was good.

If you have it covered do clean off the covers daily for moisture. I did ignore it at first till told otherwise.

I left my cover on for about 7 days... next time I will try 10. Was told by a guy from Brazil that the extra three days would have prevented my runts.

I am no expert on bottom watering. But so far it is working. If someone has a better method please leave a comment.

Here was my first vendor, took about a week to come in. Just trust the tracking, on mine it didn't show where it was. Just happened to pop in my mailbox like magic.

Hi Max,

I ordered from Mr. KO of Taiwan too. Found the address from Maria's Garden ( You tube ). He shipped it on the 11th June. I finally got an update on the parcel monitor this morning ( Istanbul Turkey ) that it has finally arrived and being sorted. I am so so excited. Finally, I can give it a try. I am so happy for you that a lot of the seeds you have planted have Hurray! germinated. My first time to try adenium. I ordered lots and I live in a flat.. really lots of seeds 😂

I didn't even know there's was such a plant. I can't stop watching you tube posts and reading forum postings on adeniums. This is why I ended up finding this forum. Please, please, keep on posting on the progress of your adenium seedlings. I will try and follow your steps. I have lots of seeds, so I can try different methods. I am currently based in Istanbul where there are lots of sunshine even in balconies. I live in Sweden permanently. But since no one is there to take care of them, I am going to try it here in Istanbul. Good luck and please keep me/us posted on your progress. BTW, do I need to rinse the perlite before using them? They are like crushed styro foam. First time to try this perlite too. I only knew about potted plants and ordinary soil potting mix that I buy on garden centres. Can I mix cactus soil? It says cactus soil? but it is like crushed lava rocks (Bought it here in Istanbul). Did not even know about lava rocks too, 😂 I am such a newbie and I need all the advice I can read from all of the adenium lovers and experts! Thank You!

Hi again,
I took a picture of the cactus soil mix I bought last week. It is like crushed dark lava rocks, very rough and quite sharp when I touch the soil mixture.. really rough! Can I use this and mix it with perlite and normal soil? This is Turkey, so, maybe they call things differently here... I've never seen nor bought cactus soil before, so I really do not know how it is supposed to look like!

Thank you again!
