Thanks, Arturo, yes almost all my pics are from our gardens. If they're from elsewhere, I say so in the photo details. Perhaps the photo looks lush because we get so much rain here! Hilarious! Hilarious! I too love alliums and have over the years accumulated a collection of quite a few varieties. When we were kids we called them lollypop plants. Bees love them, too!

Thanks Mika, do those Alliums belong to the category of Noids or are they named cultivars? They look like Purple Sensation to me, but I'm a novice with Alliums so, if you could kindly provide more info I would love to hear about them. I've grown from seeds Allium christophii but they are yet too small. I may be lucky to get some to bloom perhaps in two seasons more. I also grow Allium sphaerocephalum here. They are very easy to grow and pop up almost anywhere. The bulbs are easily hidden and when working a bed they are inadvertently spread out...something that I don't mind in the least. Hilarious!

Arturo, we have a lot of purple sensation, but they are much earlier and shorter; and they are also great at self propagating.
The 'fat' ones in the recent photos are Allium Ambassador, one of my favourites. The Allium christophii that you mention are very beautiful, more open blooms.

Thank You! Mika,Thank you so much for your information. I'll look out for Allium 'Ambassador' seeds then. Perhaps I'm lucky in the seedex that I participate. (SRGC). I'm just too far behind with the Alliums , but I'm quite partial towards the drumstick types. Its very good to know that A.A is a later bloomer also.A christophii blooms almost at begining of autumn here. It's nice to find a sequencing of these. They all draw the attention of the casual passer by.
