Hi!
New here. I like anything growing so long as it doesn't try to kill me!
Shade gardened in good soil under the protection of a old forest for 24 years, thought I knew everything. Moved three houses away to full sun, exposed, barren, lifeless soil, battered by tornado like winds, and found out what an idiot I was. An injury delayed my determination to improve my lot, but eventually, I started. The soil was so compacted, the weed roots couldn't penetrate deeper than a 1/4 inch. I am proud to say, my weeds now have roots 18" long when I dig them out!
Oh, what have I done?
Funny, my "new" yard looks like it could use a make over, but I'm more proud of it than the yard that won lavish praise. I've actually had to earn the abandon look. "You should have seen it before!"
Still fighting the good fight.
Enjoy!
Sally
