I have them in several pots, most from plastic, one is ceramic. All plants that are in plastic, I re-pot every 2-3 years, change soil as well. They are also getting nutrients every 3-4 month , all plants together. Amaryllis on ceramic pot was not re-potted for at least 4-5 years. There are inside 2 main blooming bulbs (3+ inches in diameter), and several small (baby) bulbs.
This summer after the bloom I found that leaves of the main bulbs are not dark green , as it should be, but more like light green, and sometimes even yellow and partially brown. Also the bulb is not hard as other bulbs, but much more softer, and several outside layer are brown/dead and can be pealed away.
Bulbs are dying ?? why ? Extra nutrients are not enough ? I need to replace soil in ceramic pot as well ?
Any ideas ?
