Hello Debbie,
Thank you so much for your input. I am located in zone 9a. It is Curcuma Alismatifolia or Curcuma Siam Tulip, which actually is a ginger family as you stated. It is the native to Laos, northern Thailand, and Cambodia. Despite its name, it is not related to the tulip, but to the various ginger species such as turmeric. It can grow as an indoor plant, and is also sold as a cut flower (which I have never seen prior to this). My mistake to be thinking of it as some sort of Lilies, however I am a big Lilies fan, particularly Stargazer, Casablanca, Lily of Niles, Trumpet Lily African Queen, the list goes on. Despite my mistake, I think I am joining the right forum and I shall learn a lot from the folks about Lilies. Thank you again for your help and I really appreciate it.
