Hi There is a variety of Iris mentioned on your website called Bon Vivant. Please can you tell me if there is anywhere I can purchase some from ? I have a friend who had this name as her kennel name.
She has just passed away and I would like to plant some in her memory. Many Thanks for your help.

Kind Regards

Sonia Hickman

It's a very old cultivar, from 1962/63 so most likely no longer in circulation.

I've moved this thread to the Iris forum in the hope that someone may have a piece of this cultivar or know where to find it.

I checked the HIPS "Commercial Sources" list, and there are none listed for it.None of the HIPS members have reported it on their "Grow" lists, either, so....it's going to be a REAL hard one to find!!

This is what it looks like:

I'm thinking that the photo is not old, so someone somewhere must have had this iris more recently than 1963...

if you dig into that photo on the wiki.irises you will find that "Irisgal" took the picture. The wiki person who posted it was Betsy Higgins and it was posted in Nov. 2011.

It is a Plough iris so it may be out there at Thelma's. She had lots of his iris. They don't do mail order though, only dig for you when you visit.

Hi Sonia,
Like most replies I don't know where you can source this iris and I don't stock it here at the nursery.

I have asked a colleague in California if he can track it down. I know you left a message on my answerphone so apologies for not getting back to you earlier. But if I get a lead I'll be back to you.
