A Time-Saving Tip

By BookerC1

Keep a pair of gardening gloves and pruners near the back door of your house, so you can easily grab them when you are "only stepping outside for a minute." You KNOW you can't go out into the garden for even a minute without seeing something that needs to be weeded or pruned!

That was the first thing I thought when I saw that picture!
It really is helpful to do this.
Even though my tool bucket "lives" just inside the back door, I usually just grab the Felcos and the ATLAS gloves that are on the table just ouside of the door.
Quick and easy.

Too funny, crittergarden! That is actually the stash I keep by MY back door. I have a whole bucket of trowels, weed poppers, pruners, gloves, stretchy ties, etc. on the front porch that I take outside with me when I KNOW I'm going to be gardening, but this kneeler, gloves, and pruner set stays by the back door. And guess which ones I use more often? LOL

THat looks like my doorway also! The felcos, atlas gloves, and a whole slew of hand tools stay on a shoe tray right by the door. Inside the door, mind you, because I don't ever want them to go missing. I found shoe trays in the dollar spot at Target one month and bought a bunch of them. I imagine a flower pot by the door would have done the job also, but by laying out the gloves, they have a chance to air out.

I have that same trowel in the center, with the pointed end and serrated side. Just got it this summer, and I wonder what I ever did without it! Mine has a red handle, though. Thumbs up

YEp I use that one a lot! There's a big tub of other tools in the garage--these are the ones that work the best. You notice most of the handles are shaped so they are easy to hold and use.

That's exactly what it is, Critter! It was the first bloom open on a brand new rose that I planted bare-root last November. The blooms following that one have were not as large or distinct, so I'm glad I snapped that photo when I did.

I went there in person. I was afraid not all the roses I bought would fit in my suitcase to fly home, and they volunteered to ship them to me. They said they do ship if you call and order. They are not a regular online seller, though. you might get a bare root one from them in December if you can't find one locally. They have all the latest, greatest. I wish I had bought 3 of the Ketchup and Mustard. I think a row of them would be beautiful, especially with a bright yellow like Sunsprite mixed in.
Their prices are very reasonable. I ended up shipping my clothes home and packing the roses into the suitcase! Rolling on the floor laughing
Priorities, you know. Whistling Hilarious!

Yes, we do have our priorities!

Generally, I don't want anything with thorns. But Ketchup and Mustard somehow spoke to me.
If I got bareroot in December, I might have to keep it bare in the basement until May!
Unless we're forcast to have a non-winter again like last year.
