Hey guys!

I got this epidendrum porpax from my dear friend but she arrived without roots. I have no idea what to do, because she is getting very wrinkly. I'm afraid she won't make it.

Right now, I put her over a jar of water -in indirect light- for humidity:

The plant looks like this:

She has a couple of roots, but they are short and kind of not enough to support the plant. The orchid seems okay in general, got a couple of baby plants on the way but I'm concerned about it being dehydrated.

Any tips on helping her grow more roots?

Thank you very much in advance!

If you have a powdered rooting hormone, I'd use that first & then plant it in a small pot of moist Spaghnum moss.

I only have rooting hormone available to buy for roses/grapes/cacti or vegetables. Would any of these work for orchids?

dorcina what you need to do is to place this plant on a bed of long fibered sphagnum moss. You keep the moss damp and keep the orchid in contact with the moss.
Grow it in a bright spot with no direct sun. Within 4-6 weeks, you should start to see new slender roots appearing.
Epidendrum porpax grows best mounted using a tree fern or cork bark mount. I use monofilament fishing line to attach the plant to the mount. I use a pad of sphagnum moss between the plant and mount for moisture retention.
Ultimately this orchid would like to grow with a little early morning sun. Keep it evenly moist and never let it go dry too long. They are tricky when grown potted!!

In all my 45 years of growing orchids, I have never heard that notion ever mentioned, not one time. And that being rooting powder on orchids.
