A Time-Saving Tip

Keep a pair of gardening gloves and pruners near the back door of your house, so you can easily grab them when you are "only stepping outside for a minute." You KNOW you can't go out into the garden for even a minute without seeing something that needs to be weeded or pruned!

I help maintain my sister's garden, and those of her neighbors, too, so when I go over there, I have my tools handy.

LOL I keep envelopes, ziplock baggies, and a sharpie marker in my car for random seed collecting. Smiling I got permission from the head gardener at a local horticultural society to collect seeds as I wander through, as they will just dead-head them anyway. I've also often found other gardeners who are happy to share seeds if I comment on a particular plant in their garden. They aren't all viable, and they don't all come true-to-variety, but it has been fun to collect them!
