Tropical plant collector 40 years
Aroids Region: Florida Tropicals
Tacca integrifolia blooms every year about now. I have it in the GH in a few places and also outside in a few places. It was a real surprise a few years ago to learn it was hardy outside here and would bloom. (The black Tacca is not as hardy and is a greenhouse only plant for me)

Beautiful, Gina. I was just looking at a book on plants from Hawaii, and the Tacca caught my eye. I've never tried it, but might have to.

I like the look of the white one, I always thought it looked ethereal like a bridal veil. To me, the black one looks like a halloween decoration. Hilarious! Naturally I had better luck growing the black one. Shrug!

Yeah the black is much smaller and it does;t hold its flower up the same way the white does. It also blooms at a different time, at least for me. But it does reseed itself like a maniac.

I have an abandone garden. Glad to know that even under severe and chronic neglect... a Black Tacca is still manage to survive...albeit it has so small flower
I guess it worth a resque project..
