Two of my newly planted daylilies, about 3 weeks, are greening up nicely but have each pushed up a bloom stalk. They are Spice Bomb and Charismatic from Maryott.. I removed the stalks. Both are listed as rebloomers. Do you think this is an indication that they may rebloom next year? I would enjoy hearing from you experienced growers......

It is an indication that they are rebloomers, but in the climate they came from. Not sure that will be the same in the new location. You might be a better judge of that, do any other of your varieties rebloom?

Yeah, I'm not sure. Since you live in Utah, I really don't know how long your summers are. Daylilies that I plant in the first year usually behave differently for me the second year. None of the Maryott's that I have bought have rebloomed for me.

Thanks Vicki........I'll see next summer. Our last frost is sometime in May although we have been having mild springs. First frost is usually in Nov.

Forgot to mention that the ones I had that I purchased in 2015 that were Maryott intros were:

Fashion Rings (Maryott, 2014)
Energized (Maryott, 2013)

Bill Maryott has stated that in his California ideal weather garden, almost 100% re-bloom every year. He said it does not matter whether it is listed re-bloomer or what type of daylily, they all re-bloom every year. Wouldn't we all like those growing conditions?

What part of California is he in?

I think now his latest plants are sold exclusively thru Schreiner's in Salem Oregon.

Looks like at one time his gardens were in Freedom California, on the coast about midway of the state.

Hybridizers in both California and Florida have indicated in the past that in their locations and growing conditions nearly all daylilies will rebloom.
Researchers have determined that daylilies do not need to experience cold to flower nor do they require specific day lengths (or night lengths) to flower.
So basically a daylily will flower, depending on how often the gardener waters and fertilizes and how long the growing season lasts and what the temperatures are during the growing season. When temperatures are too high (above the daylily's maximum temperature for growth) it will stop growing. When temperatures are too low (below the daylily's minimum temperature) it will stop growing. The daylily needs to grow to be able to rebloom. If it rests (stops growing for any reason) then the chances that it will rebloom will depend on how long it rests and how quickly it grows after it stops resting. Plant growth including daylilies is fastest at the plants optimum growing temperature (probably about 80F or below for most daylilies - probably higher for Florida-breds that have not had northern-breds in their ancestry for many generations). Plant growth is also fastest at the plant's optimum nitrogen fertilizer rate, etc.

Rebloom may be more likely if the daylily is not allowed to set seeds.

Yes, because those scapes will have started before the plants were shipped if they were received only three weeks ago.
