Lowe's has brand new containerized 'Regal Shields' right now (here anyway) for $16.95. Large robust plants

Very nice and it sounds like a decent price for that size plant! The nearest Lowes to us is 15 miles away and I'm not fond of driving but I do at times tag along when my husband says he has to go to Lowes for something. Smiling He always drops me at the garden center and meets me back out there when he's ready to go. The next time a trip to Lowes is scheduled I may have to go look for that Alocasia.

I forgot to say that I like that Elephant's Ear (Alocasia 'Regal Shields') doesn't get 6 to 8 feet tall and the reverse side of the leaves is just as pretty as the upper.

It is a gorgeous one. It was made by LariAnn Garner. Its a cross between ALocasia door x ALocasia reginula 'Black Velvet'.

I thought it was one of Lari Ann's.

EVERYTIME I type ODORA I get autocorrected to DOOR LOL. Unless I catch it and I don;t half the time.
I think that Regal Shields is such an interesting cross because odora is a larger growing thin leaves alocasia and reginula is a Jewel alocasia

I bought a couple of these at my Lowes 2 years ago and both plants are doing well. They live in a semi-outdoor atrium most of the year and I bring them inside for winter. They don't like in inside and usually drop 1-2 leaves over winter, but snap back to their usual selves once they're back out in the atrium come Springtime. There are two in the photo on the floor flanking the two potted aralias if you look closely. Those are smaller plants in general. I rotate them to see that they all get their share of the elevated "primo" real estate closest to the ceiling light source for a couple weeks or so at a time. :)
