Monday I'll be without power for a few days. (hopefully only 3-5) due to elec mast repair post Michael. Got water, canned food, batteries and lights, dog food, instant coffee, Clorox wipes, portable power pack to charge cell phone, gas for neighbor's generator which she said I could borrow, cords and two box fans. I cook with gas..got matches. Figure drinks and stuff that I'll want a lot will go on ice in a cooler. So how many hours a day should the generator be run to keep the fridge at safe temp if I'm not into it a lot? Post Michael I was only here 4 days before my DD dragged me and Dixie off to Georgia...some food in freezer was still viable. Not looking forward to this but happy the repair will FINALLY be done.

Thanks...busy today doing stuff. Just dragged hose to water plants. Ugh already tired and lots left to do.

Not everything is covered. Did not think neighbor's kids would dump generator here after dark and be RUDE about it. Crap...I have no clue about the thing and they seemed equally clueless. Now I am scared to use it. Hopefully the company doing the repair will give me a crash course in generator 101. How do I get myself into these situations...oh well it is what it is and this too shall pass with or without the use of the generator. God help me if I break the thing. Silver lining...bought ice today and 2 bags fit in freezer with Dixie's frozen well water. Brat...other 2 bags are in cooler with drinks for ME. Lol

Well I'm getting fixed. One tech was here before the other and gave me generator 101but when I tried to pull the cord it just sat there and laughed at me guess at 72 my get up and go done got up and went Oh well, if I can't crank it up then I can't break it

Everything fell into place perfectly yesterday...I was without power for only about 6 hours instead of the predicted 3 to 5 days. Before leaving one of the techs fired up the generator for me so I could run the fridge and fans...only needed to less then an hour. YEA !!!
