So I'm getting ready to purchase my second orchid and I took some time to hunt down a photo I took in 2014 that seeded (pun intended) the thought of orchids in my mind.

I was actually hiking up Tinker Cliffs in VA in order to propose to my wife at the top, when I came across this beauty at the top:

It was June, the view was great, I thought we were going to die when we crossed paths with a bear, I proposed to my wife, and then I saw this. A great day was had!

Cypripedium acaule.
They are so pretty. When you come across them in the wild, it is awe inspiring.

So, what is your second orchid going to be?

You have got more restraint then I have. I started with 3 and had perhaps a dozen inside of 6 months and maybe 50 within a year. I would have probably gotten to fifty quicker if not for Winter that started two months after my first purchase.

Well good luck with that.

It is just like Lays potato chips, "I bet you can't eat just one!" Becomes " I bet you can't live with just 2!"
Let us all know how you make out. Crossing Fingers! Whistling
