The heavy rain on the 3rd day with Imelda surprised us all. We had 29" in 24 hrs. I believe 25" came down in 5 of those hours yesterday! My plumeria began to flood. Some fell over and floated in the water that eventually was 12" high on the driveway. I was able to move all but the largest 5 under protection. I must say, moving a big pot and 5 ft tree is much easier in water!
The sun peeked out for a short time today. Those trees will remain 7nder protection until.all threat of rain leaves us.

What a sad sight.... but I am happy your house was spared.
Cleanup is so long and hard. And people to do the work will be hard to come by I am sure. Wishing your neighbors good luck!
Thanks @dutchlady1. We are a tight community. Many churches came in groups with tools and mucked out houses for free. School was out on Friday, many teens did the same. Others have been coming by with drinks and good to offer to both residents and workers. And of course, there are homes who have secured contractors who have begun demolishing and mold remediation. Our street seems to be all on time. But of course, that is because 95% of them flooded last May! They had contractors because either work had just finished or was near completion. Very sad!
