I thought we only had one fawn..this one came out with its mother
and we were delighted and she is teaching it to eat shelled corn
from us and drinking the fresh water ..

The mother does stands
in the yard while we throw her loaf white bread..which she loves.

She even sticks her tongue out as we throw the bread to her
and we have a laugh at her anticipation of that slice of bread!

you will see my husband throwing a piece of bread to the buck
in the background of the picture..

The three bucks come daily together and sometimes all are
dining at the same time..

We found out we have another fawn
so we think little mother doe had twins...and one had just stayed
behind the trees for 2 weeks and then decided to make an appearance.

They are not eating my daylilys because they desire the bread ,apples
shelled corn and fresh water..

otherwise I buy a spray from Lowes that repels deer but not harmful..and spray the outer rows of daylilys only.

Even this squirrel loves bread and it turns the bread with its little hands and eats the crust all around the slice of bread lst...

Wonderful photos, but while It may be better than starving, I can't imagine white bread Is healthy for them. I also don't believe that making them too familiar with humans is a good thing. A meat hunter only needs to feed them so he can shoot them from his back porch ?
