I was fortunate enough to not have flooding with Imelda but I did get lots and lots of rain. After it finally stopped I noticed that my coral nymph looked better than it has ever looked.
My experience has been that it is very drought tolerant in terms of not dying but blooms much more profusely when it gets well watered. Hopefully it will never have too experience too much water and its nice to know it can take quite a lot.

It looks so happy. The bees love it. I was hoping the hummingbirds would be attracted but I haven't seen them in it.

@honeyx4

Glad you didn't have flooding. Your Coral Nymph looks great. Hope you'll see hummers enjoying your Coral Nymph flowers soon.

Are you seeing any hummers in your yard with other flowers?

Thank you. I'm very thankful I had no flooding with Imelda. We had a lot of neighborhood flooding with Harvey, and I had significant home damage with Ike.
I have lots of hummers in the yard. I see them on a red salvia that I have. They also like the rangoon creeper, I have a huge esperanza, rose of Sharon and a firercracker fern that they seem to really like.

I was posting on one of the bird chat threads about the hummers fighting over the feeders. They have plenty of options.

The more I learned about gardening the more I gravitated toward attracting birds, and butterflies. The bees come too. I have an indigo spires that the bees have taken over, They love it.

Honey,

That's great the hummers are enjoying your flowers and feeders. I'm sure the hummers will be enjoying the Coral Nymph flowers soon. My mom told me years ago; "once you get them in the yard, they'll be working all the flowers" (or something to that effect).

Here's the database link for Coral Nymph if you'd like to post your pic above.

Hummingbird Sage (Salvia coccinea 'Coral Nymph')

I've grown Indigo Spires before and it is a great bee plant. I planted it once in the ground and after that, in large containers.

Since you're zone 9a, you probably don't have to worry about frost and freezes like I do. Thumbs up
