Soon to be Red Currants

These tiny beautiful blooms of the Red Lake Currant bush produce scrumptous petite red currants.. Since this was intended as a Spring banner, and this has been scheduled as an October 2nd banner, the abundance of the cascading little fruit has long since appeared, ripened and been made into a delicious marmalade.

So pretty!!

Great banner, Fleur! I used to eat those berries as a young kid (back in the dark ages). Just a couple of days ago I was telling my hubby that I didn't see them anymore. I'll just have to plant one.

This makes a cool banner and a plant I was not familiar with. Nice!

I also went to the data base to review your photo of ripened berries. I like eating them fresh off the bush, however marmalade on breakfast toast is a real treat on winter mornings! The banner of blooms and leaves serves to remind us just how quickly summer passes into fall. But we have a beautiful banner left behind to remind us.

Current marmalade sounds rather nice right about now. The banner is terrific as usual, Fleur!

Ah, Fleur. Another lovely banner. There's a curious elegance and grace about it that is especially enchanting.
