Commelina diffuse on the left and Commelina erecta on the right.

Very pretty flowers, unfortunately a lot of people don't like them because they are aggressive, but I think they are lovely.

I have the Comelina 'erecta' (I call them Dayflowers) with the two blue petals, growing wild on our rural property in Gause, TX 8b, but don't have a picture of it. Will have to take one this season.

It's mixed in our grass with Edwards Plateau Spiderworts (three petals, below), so I have to look real closely to know which I'm looking at.

Lovely flowers

Great pic! I only get the one with tiny flowers, diffusa. I love them but the plant is too aggressive in relation to the blooms for the space I have. If erecta would show up, I would keep it around.

I wonder what the difference is between these two?
