Casey, nice flower form & selective focus.

I had no idea it was so popular, maybe back East (vs out West?),
even as decoration on drapes, table cloths, and license plates. Blinking

Another great plant to add (if I can find room). Thumbs up

FYI, saw some pricey ones on Amazon, 15 for $41, but found this deal on EBay.......
12 bare root Goosenecks for $10.75, free shipping. Thumbs up
https://www.ebay.com/itm/12-Go...

It's hardy zone 3-8, and we're 10b.

But worth trying for $10.75, and have a good spot for it.

Thank you @Frenchy21, @Marilyn Acorn , @EscondidoCal, @crawgarden, @GaNinFl, @Baja_Costero, @bootandall, @dirtdorphins, @greene, @HemNorth, @krobra, @MargieNY, @vic, and @zuzu for taking the time to leave comments, thumbs and acorns!

Cal, these are lovely but a bit invasive. I got mine from a friend after I gave her some Jerusalem artichokes that took over her side yard, so I jokingly nicknamed them "Barkley's Revenge". Hilarious! I don't think they're difficult to control but not sure if I could ever completely remove them from the garden.

Thank you Frenchy! I always think of that game when they start emerging. Smiling

Marilyn, I'll see if I can find the pic. Big Grin

Nice plant; beautiful banner; refreshing color; and totally new to me. Looks like something I will need to add to my never-ending collection. (after I remove my invasive Jerusalem artichokes) Whistling

Lovely! I used to have Gooseneck Loosestrife in my garden and you are correct. It is very invasive. It took over my whole garden space and I had to eradicate it. I like it though. Nice photo Casey, nice Banner! Great job.

One person's invader is another's volunteer. Hilarious!

We have several "invaders".......Matilija poppies, Mexican Primrose, Hypoestes aristata, Psoralea,
to name a few, and love them all. Green Grin!

The only one I try to eradicate is the asparagus fern.....should be against the law to sell them, imho. Grumbling

But can hardly wait to get our Looseneck Goosestrifes. Grin

Leon, do you cook with your Jerusalem artichokes? I did when I grew them. I'd like to get some more... I think???

Thank you slowcala! I'm still trying to decide whether or not I want to transplant them to our property. Right now they're bordered between our house and a path, so it's easier to keep them under control. That may be the secret. Big Grin

Casey-
We had them last year breaded in flour & sauteed in some olive oil. They weren't bad but it was only at the suggestion of my youngest son who planted them. They grew way out of bounds with their invasive roots and I had no choice but to eliminate them. You might want to re-think growing them since they are massive plants. But if you do; good luck! See photo below. These were only half grown. Whistling

You're welcome Marilyn. Smiling

And I agree with Marilyn - your garden is beautiful Leon! Lovey dubby Thank you for sharing! And thank you for the advise! I do recall they got out of hand. I planted them along the side of the garage at our previous house. They did look great but I remember constantly pulling them up when they migrated.

Speaking of massive plants, I finally purchased roselle seeds this year. Three seedlings were planted in the garden, two of which died a mysterious death, but the smallest of the three I planted thrived and is finally producing buds! It's a beautiful plant and as a bonus the young leaves are edible. (They taste very similar to the tea made from the calyces.) So if you're looking for something new to add to your garden...

Thanks for bringing up the chokes....I'd forgotten about them.
They grow wild here by the road, and are sold in some grocery stores.
We had some years ago that the gophers ate.
But we like the branching sunflower-like blooms, so will try again. Crossing Fingers!

And roselle! Another one I didn't know about, but now must have. Rolling my eyes.

salads, jam, and the bark is used like jute! Green Grin!

Casey, just got 12 bare root Goosenecks, and 230 seeds of Roselle. Hurray!
I'm planting the Loosestrifes today.....some in a pot, some in the ground.
I'll wait till April to plant the Roselles.

Now just need some chokes.
We'll add them to the grocery list. Smiling

Thanks again for telling me about these great plants.
Hope I won't regret getting them, but that's on me.
I'm always open to new plants if they fit in, grow well,
and add to the show. Thumbs up
