Some of these kernels were sown on 29 June (see post below for Sep 2, 2019)

" Here's a pic of Painted Mountain maize which I sowed in this large pot on 29 June of this year (the pot with the tape measure in it). The height of the tallest plant is just at 48 inches and two of them started to tassel about a week ago. There are 4 plants together in this pot, which measures about 14 inches wide and 16 inches tall. Plenty of time yet for the cobs to mature before the first expected frost of about mid November in this part of Oregon."

Here's a scan of 3 cobs that I harvested today. One cob is still immature and will be harvested later.
